Plantaroo is a plant-care tracker. We built it to be quiet and respectful of your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

• Account info — when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address (or Apple's private relay email) and a unique user ID. We use these only to create your account and sync your data.
• Your plant data — the plants you add and their details (name, room, care settings, notes, watering/feeding history) and any photos you choose to attach.
• Crash reports — if the app crashes, a technical report (device model, OS version, app version and the error) is sent to Sentry so we can fix the bug. Crash reports do not include your plants or photos.

We do not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or analytics about how you use the app. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

How your data is stored

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) under your account and is readable only by you. It is also cached on your device so the app works offline. We never sell your data and never share it with third parties for advertising.

Plant identification and care suggestions

When you add a plant with a photo, the app can identify the plant and suggest a care schedule. To do this, the photo (reduced in size) and the plant's name, light and soil settings are sent over an encrypted connection to a server we operate ourselves. That server runs an AI model on our own hardware; nothing is sent to a third-party AI provider. Photos are processed in memory only — they are never stored, logged or used for training — and are discarded as soon as the answer is returned. The request is tied to your signed-in account only to prevent abuse. If the server is unavailable, the app uses its built-in plant database and nothing is sent.

Sharing features

Sharing is off unless you turn it on. If you invite a co-owner, that person can see and edit your plants. If you create a plant-sitter link (Away mode), anyone with the link can see the names, rooms, photos and due dates of the plants in that schedule for the dates you chose. You can revoke either at any time in Settings → Sharing. The app also publishes an anonymous summary of your account — counts and due dates only, never plant names, notes or photos — used solely to power reminders.

Notifications

Watering reminders are scheduled entirely on your device. They are not sent from a server and contain no data about you.

Your choices

• Delete everything — Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account and all associated plants, photos and history.
• Turn off reminders — Settings → Watering reminders.
• Skip identification — add a plant without a photo, or type the name yourself. A photo is only sent when you attach one.
• Sign out at any time; your data stays safely in your account until you return.

Children

Plantaroo is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
